We couldn’t have found a more fitting old-time musical artist for this market celebrating the upcycled, the repurposed and the handmade! Ryan Spearman‘s latest release, Get Along Home, was recorded using instruments from repurposed or recycled items including cigar boxes and wine bottles for an added handmade element woven throughout the album.

Ryan is a singer, song writer, and multi-instrumentalist with impressive skills on the guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, and harmonica. His repertoire features folk, blues, old time, early jazz, and distinct original songs that tend to magically combine an exceptional command of language with a broad understanding of American musical form.

Once a Nederland, Colorado dweller and founding member/fiddler for the popular old time band, High on the Hog, Spearman is now an instructor at The Folk School of St. Louis in his homestate of Missouri where he has taught classes covering several traditional musical subjects including clawhammer banjo, old time & bluegrass fiddle, guitar, and old time ensemble performance.

Ryan Spearman will perform at our Gypsy Farm Market on Sunday from 12-3pm. Come shop local handmade goods, and then take a little picnic on a haybale and enjoy some Vintage Americana and Post Modern Originals.
